トヨタクラウンがシングルフレームグリル？！

日本でトヨタ・クラウンがマイナーチェンジされたことを受け、中国でも間もなくマイナーチェンジモデルが登場するそうです。中国の自動車サイト163.comにリーク写真が掲載されているんですが、管理人には気になることが・・・。アウディを髣髴とさせる「シングフレームグリル」の採用です！中国専用仕様ですねぇ。

いわゆる高級車セグメントですから、押し出しの強さが重要なんでしょう。日本仕様車とはナンバープレートの位置が異なるのは、ナンバープレートを含めたデザインから？実はナンバープレート違いでルックスが変わるんですよね。リアにはトランクリッド中央部に配されていただけのクローム・オーナメントが・・・、ブレーキランプ上部にまで延長されています。コレは結構な荒業っ（笑）！

従来設定されていた4.3lV8エンジンは不人気だったそうで、マイナーチェンジを機に廃止。2.5lV6、3lV6と展開されるそうです。日本ではクラウンマジェスタの4WDモデルに設定されていたV8エンジンですよね？コレって・・・、最終型トヨタセルシオ、レクサスSCなどでずっとキャリーオーバー？（笑）。

The facelifted Toyota Crown was expected to make its debut at last month's Beijing Auto Show. Contrary to our expectations, it didn't. Chinese media, 163.com, now shows us the new Crown which will be on sale in China from June.

The most striking thing about this facelift is that Toyota decided to use "Single frame grill" which is commonly seen on Audi. Chinese model and JDM look subtly different. The designer must've taken in account of the difference in the appearance of number plates.

The 4.3lV8 will be ditched because nobody bought it, making Crown's engine lineup with 2.5lV6 and 3lV6. Toyota Crown Majesta (JDM) 4WD model carries the same 4.3lV8 engine. Although Toyota has stopped building Lexus LS430 and SC, are they still building the same engine?? If so, this is a profitable engine, indeed.

フィアット５００がＶＷ本社を飾る？！

久しぶりに思わせぶりなタイトルでスイマセン・・・。まぁ、VW本社とはいっても、スウェーデンにある現地本部です。Google Mapで見てみると・・・、正面玄関にフィアット500が見事に鎮座しているんです（笑）。まぁ、よくぞこんなタイミングでストリートビューが撮影したものです。

Google Mapで「Volkswagen Group Sverige AB」（コピペしてください）と検索して、ストリートビューをご覧ください。グッと回ってビルの正面玄関を見てみると、思わず笑ってしまいます。こりゃ、VWによるフィアットへの"仕返し"（もちろんユーモア込めて）が期待できそうです。

それにしても色んな瞬間が撮影されているものです。

なんかコレだけで映画になってしまいそう・・・。現実は小説より奇なり、とはよく言ったものです。

How?

By parking a Fiat 500 right in front of the front door when Google's Street View cars were out. How VW will retaliate to this prank, we'll soon find out.

２０００万円のウルトラスーパーカーっ！

ありゃっ！エンツォが海に浮かんでいる？って思った管理人ですが、違います。「シーライオン」（つまりはアシカ）という名の水陸両用車が売り出されているんです。値段は25万ドルですから、日本円で約2000万円です。

どうです、お客様っ！えっ？エンジン音が気になるって？1974年式のマツダ・ロータリーエンジン（13B）を搭載です（売主はRX8のエンジンに交換できるとも記しています）。いやいや、現役バリバリですよ。最高出力は174psに過ぎませんが陸上の最高時速は200km/h、水上の最高時速は96km/hです。文句ありませんよね？

必要とあらば、ギネスレコード申請も受け付けているそうです。

たしかに「2000万円」は大金ですけど、「スーパーカー」と「スピードボート」を手に出来ると思えばお買い得かもしれません（笑）。

The Sea Lion, built by Mark Witt Applied Design, purports to be the world's fastest amphibious vehicle and has been custom designed from the ground up for just this purpose.It uses a 1974 Mazda Rotary 13B engine making 174ps (though the seller suggests replacing it with a 300-600 HP RX8 Renesis lump). For water travel, the Sea Lion uses a jet ski-like jet drive. These power plants let the Sea Lion achieve 200km/h on land and up to 96km/h on water.

中国の文化遺産を軽んじたフェラーリ？！

中国でフェラーリのプロモーションが・・・、多くの中国人を怒らせてしまったそうです。フェラーリ458イタリアの中国限定車（中国進出20周年記念ならびに辰年記念）のプロモーションで、南京の中華門を貸切。特に問題視されているのは、中華門の上で軽くドリフトをしたことです。タイヤマークよりも、内部構造にダメージを与える（？）恐れがあるとか・・・。

このイベントを許可した南京市の観光局が批判の矛先にあがっているようですが、なんでも地元の歴史建造物を管轄する当局の許可は得ていなかったとか・・・。しかも半日、中華門を閉ざすことになって観光客からのブーイングも相当なものだったそうです。

フェラーリは地元関係当局と協力して、ダメージの修復、信頼の回復を図ると発表しているそうです。知り合いの中国人と話していたら・・・、「弱みに付け込んでお金をゆするんだろうね」なーんて穿った解釈をしていました（笑）。

ちなみに、この458限定車・・・、専用ボディカラー、専用オーナメント、20台のみの生産で・・・、600万元（約8000万円）するそうです・・・。

Ferrari has made China very angry. Ferrari wanted to promote their special-edition 458 Italia by drifting it on an ancient city wall in the great city of Nanjing in Jiangsu Province. Not a good idea... Tourism authorities in East China's Nanjing city have come under fire after a Ferrari was allowed to perform stunts at, and allegedly damage, a centuries-old historical site.

The special-edition car, valued at 6 million yuan (US$954,000), was hoisted onto and driven around the city gate on Sunday night in the run-up to a Ferrari show. Also, the decision to host the ceremony at the heritage site was not approved by archaeological authorities, according to Yang Xinhua, vice head of the Nanjing Municipal Administration of Cultural Heritage.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, Ferrari China said the drive was the result of unauthorized action taken by staff from Kuaiyi Automobile, a distributor of Ferrari cars in Nanjing. The automaker "deeply regretted" the incident and would cooperate with local authorities to solve the problems incurred, it promised.

Auto Evolutionで取り上げられていた話題です・・・。ミハイル・シューマッハはプロスポーツ選手史上、2番目にお金持ちなんだそうです。

下世話な話題で恐縮ですがホント、世界を舞台に活躍するアスリートっていうのは桁違いに凄いいんですねぇ・・・。っで、一体幾らお稼ぎになったかって8億2300万ドル（800億円弱）で、1位のタイガー・ウッズと4300万ドル（40億円弱）の差があるそうです。

エアー・ジョーダン、ジョーダンＴシャツなどで育った管理人としては、マイケル・ジョーダンがダントツだと思っていたんですが、それでも5億1700万（400億円強）ドルなんですって。女性に大人気のベッカム様に至っては2億5800万ドル（200億円弱）とまだまだヒヨっこ（笑）。

F1界における生涯年収では、ダントツでミハイル・シューマッハがリードしています。まぁ、キャリアが長いということもありますが、それほどスポンサーに愛されている人物でもあるんでしょうね。

According to Auto Evolution, Michael Schumacher is officially the world's second-highest paid sportsperson. He trails American golfer, Tiger Woods, by $43million with a total earnings-spree of $823million to Tiger Woods' $869million.

Other sports-related people have also earned considerable sums of money, namely Michael Jordan with $517million and David Beckham with $258million. But Schumacher trumps these figures with ease.

Despite the whole idea of one person having so much money and power being repulsive, in the case of Michael, we can make an exception as he's truly a special and unique figure in F1 and in sports in general.

ロシアで起こった渋滞の原因が恐ろし過ぎる

YouTubeには数多くのドライブレコーダー映像が投稿されていますが、なかでも"ロシア物"はユニークなモノが多いような気がします。何気ない交通渋滞のように見えますが・・・、まさかあんなものが横断歩道から突き出していようとは・・・。

迷惑ですし、危険ですし、本当にやめてもらいたいものです。そんなロシアからもう一つ。我先に合流しようとする迷惑な車たち、です（笑）。

本物か否か分かりませんが、まさか銃口が向けられるとはねぇ・・・。

クロアチア発のスーパーＥＶ？！

「クロアチア」と聞いてスーパーカーを思い浮かべる人はいないでしょう。でも、電気自動車は既存の内燃式エンジン車両よりも開発しやすいのか（？）誰にでも"可能性"をもたらしてくれるんでしょうねぇ。

RIMAC AUTOMOBILIという会社のコンセプトOne、先日モナコで公開されてかなりの注目を集めているようです。4つのインホイールモーターは、合計1088ps相当の最高出力、387.1kg-m（！！！）のトルクを叩き出すそうです。

0-60マイル（96km/h）加速は2.8秒、最高速度305km/hだそうです。充電が心配になるでしょうが、満タン充電で598㎞走行。1台98万ドルで88台の限定生産を見込んでいるそうです。

うーん、あまりに好条件過ぎて、最近流行りの「スーパーカー投資詐欺」ではないか、と疑ってしまうほどです。新参メーカーがこんなスーパー電気自動車が作れて、既存の自動車メーカーに出来ないってオカシイ、と思うのがフツーでは？98万ドルで88台って・・・、80億円程度で研究開発→部品調達→生産＝ある程度の利益が見込めるんですよね？ふーん。

現在、注文を受け付けていて来年からデリバリーだそうです。引き続き、注目してみます。

Croatia isn't the first country that pops into my head when I think of supercars. The last vehicle I remember coming from that part of the world was the Yugo from nearby Serbia, but this looks like the real deal.

The Concept One from Rimac Automobili doesn't just make the Tesla look slow, its performance figures should scare Ferrari and Lamborghini, too. The four electric motors (one per wheel) churn out a Veyron-topping total of 1,088 horsepower and 2,800 ft-lb torque. For comparison, the Tesla Roadster has 248 horsepower and 200 ft-lb of torque, while even the souped-up 1,184 horsepower Bugatti Veyron Super Sport has a mere 1,100 ft-lb of torque.

All of this translates into a fast but beatable top speed of 190 mph, but a truly insane zero-to-60 mph time of just 2.8 seconds. While all of that speed might make you think that the batteries would have a hard time taking you farther than the end of the driveway, the Concept One can actually manage 372 miles before you need to plug it in.

All of this performance does come at a price, though: $980,000. You could get about nine Teslas for the same money. Production will be limited too at just 88 cars to start, but the company has just started taking orders.

Deliveries start next year. What Rimac Automobili Claims is just too good to be true... We will keep close look on the progress.

ロールスロイスでサーキット走行？！

いわずもながロールスロイスは世界を代表する、超高級車ブランドです。まさか、サーキットを走ることなんざないでしょう、というわけでサーキット走行動画をアップした人が居るようです。

いやぁ・・・、器の小さいボクには出来ません（笑）。なーんか車が痛みそうなんですもん。でも、さすがS63AMGを凌ぐ動力性能をもつBMW760がベースなだけあります。サーキット走行も快適そうですね（笑）。

でもぶっちゃけ、YouTubeにはもっと凄いロールスロイス動画があるんです！過去にご紹介しているとは思いますが・・・。

パトカーの先導付き暴走はアリ？ナシ？

アメリカで先月、パトカーによる先導のもとスーパーカーがハイウェイを爆走したそうです。パトカーはパトライトを点滅させ、時には時速100マイル（160km/h）ほどで走っていたと地元警察に市民から苦情が寄せられたとか。

このビデオは2010年に撮影されたもので、きっとこんな雰囲気だったんだろう、というモノです。

個人的には・・・、スーパーカーたちが勝手に爆走するよりも、パトカーの先導があったほうが安全だとは思いますけどねぇ。まぁ、善良な市民はスピード違反（たしかに飛ばしてはいますけど・・・、パトカーに気づいて道を譲ってくれますし、スーパーカーはパトカーに付いてくるし・・・）、高い車だからって先導付きという不公平感（節税もバッチリしているとは思いますけど、スーパーカー・オーナーはたっぷり税金を支払っていると思います）が問題視されたんでしょう。富裕層と一般市民の間にギスギスした雰囲気が漂っているんですかね？

それにしてもアメリカ人の若者・・・、大興奮ですよね（笑）。

State officials have reacted with dismay to allegations that the New Jersey State Police led a high-speed caravan of sports cars to Atlantic City last month without regard for the safety of other drivers, and they have promised swift action against those involved.
But it wasn't the first time. The YouTube video was shot back in 2010. This gives us an idea of what police escorted supercar caravans are like.

Personally speaking, I think it's much safer having the patrol car escort these caravans of supercars... I know, they are breaking the speed-limit...but...

日産がニューヨークのタクシーを供給する意義

日産「NV200」は2年間に渡る厳格な選考を経て、2013年後半から導入される次世代のニューヨーク市タクシーとして選ばれました。ぶっちゃけ我々、一般消費者には"なんのこっちゃ・・・"というほど、日産では盛り上がっているんです（笑）。プレスリリースはコチラ

10年で4万台納入予定ですから、まぁ大量受注であることは確かです。でも、日産が喜ぶ理由はほかにもあるはず？！今、アメリカで噂されているのは・・・、映画に露出することによる広告効果です。

なるほど・・・、たしかにニューヨークを舞台にした映画であれば、タクシーが登場する機会も多いでしょう。しかも日産はNV200の映画出演に対して一銭もお金を払う必要がありません。大量受注による売り上げもさることながら、「NISSAN」のロゴマークが今まで以上に露出することに日産は価値を見出しているのかもしれません。

ふーん、って感じですが日産の盛り上がり方を見るとまんざらでもありません（笑）。ちなみに日産は、こんな専用サイトまで設けています！

Nissan is so stoked over winning the Taxi of Tomorrow contract with its NV200 compact van. Beginning in late 2013, the entire New York City taxi fleet will be converting to Nissan's aesthetically challenged people mover, which will replace the ubiquitous Ford Crown Victoria. Whether this leads to any burnishing of the Nissan brand remains to be seen, but the contract is worth 40,000 units in New York alone over the next 10 years.

How many movies and TV shows will be shot in New York over the next decade? How many of them will show the traffic, where taxis can be seen, in the street? How many scenes will be shot in the back of a taxi conversing? Eventually, any scene in which the star hails a cab, crosses a Manhattan street, arrives at her apartment in a taxi -- it will all be Nissan's NV200 taxi. And this form of "advertisement" is absolutely free for Nissan. No wonder they seem so excited about the whole deal!

Nissan even has a dedicate website for NV200 taxi...

オーストラリアで放映禁止になったテレビＣＭ

スズキ・スイフト・スポーツがオーストラリアに投入されました。走りが「熱いぜっ！」ってことで駐車場のスプリンクラーが作動しているんです。なーんかダサいですけど、伝えたいメッセージはなんとなく分かります（笑）。

っで、このテレビCMが放映禁止になったんですが・・・、その理由分かります？？？

走りが熱すぎて、汗だくになる美女のセクシードレス。こんなに汗かかれたら、興ざめですよ（笑）。でも女性のセクシーさを売り過ぎで「男性による女性軽視！」なーんてフェミニストが大騒ぎしているのかと思いきや・・・、違うんです!

なんと駐車場内でフォグランプを点灯させながら走行することは、オーストラリアの法律に反するんですって・・・。そして、スポーティに駐車場で走り回るシーンが危険行為であり、暴走運転を助長するとオーストラリアの公共広告機構にあたるAdvertising Standards Bureauへクレームが入ったんです。また、上にある女性の胸元に汗がほとばしるシーン・・・、シートベルトの正しい装着例ではないことも問題に・・・。

オーストラリアはAnti-Hoon Lawという法律があり、自動車の暴走行為には厳しいんですっ。でも、いくらなんでも規制し過ぎだと思う管理人は・・・、アナーキストとでも呼ばれてしまうんでしょうか？

なーんか、ギスギスした世の中になってきていますねぇ。

Suzuki's Australian division was recently slapped in the face by the Advertising Standards Bureau (ASB), an organization responsible advertising regulations in down under, for its most recent advertisement featuring the Swift Sport .

The TV commercial of Swift Sport had been taken off the air, NOT for nudity or being sexist, but rather because it showed a car driving through a parking lot with its fog lights on, which is illegal?! The ASB, also, has received complaints about promotion of dangerous driving, the improper use of the seatbelts and even for the light attire of lady on the passenger seat.

Since when has Australia become so strict??

スズキの4輪北米事業は危機的状況？！

「スズキ」と聞いて何をイメージしますか？バイク、小型車、インド、ハンガリー、中国、ワイン事業、フォルクスワーゲンとの提携解消、鈴木会長、まぁ人それぞれ色々あるでしょう。でも総じて、ポジティンブなイメージですよね？特にメディアの報道では海外進出を積極的にこなし現地生産へのシフトが上手い、といった流れでまとめられることが多いように感じます。

自動車王国ではスズキの4輪北米事業がしばらく気になっています。というのも日本のメディアが報じることとは裏腹に、かなり深刻な販売不振に見舞われているからです。Automotive Newsが報じた内容はかなりシビアです。

2年前、自動車王国が取り上げた時点では北米ディーラーネットワークは300ほど。それが現在では246へと減少しています。そのうち150のディーラーでは月販5台、もしくはそれ以下、という状況なんですって。ネガティブな情報としてはデトロイト、ロサンジェルスのモーターショーを辞退、J.Dパワーとの顧客満足度調査の契約打ち切り、ソーシャルメディア（Twitter, Facebook）での情報発信停止、2009年からテレビCMゼロ、北米での商品プランニング・マーケティング役員不在・・・、などが指摘されています。

っで、昨年の北米販売総数は2万6618台ですからねぇ・・・。2007年には10万台以上の販売を誇っていましたから、現状はハッキリ言ってボロボロです。

日本では不思議なほど報じられません。スズキのIRページを見ると・・・。

「海外売上高については、円高の影響に加え、インドのマルチスズキ社での販売減もあり、アジア、欧州、北米などで前年同期を下回りました。その結果、四輪車事業の売上高は1兆5,742億円と前年同期に比べ1,337億円（7.8％）減少しました。営業利益についても858億円と前年同期に比べ86億円（9.1％）減少しております」

これだけでは北米における深刻な事業不振を読み取るのは、難しいかもしれません。KIZASHIの投入、スズキの明るい未来への「兆し」ならイイんですけどね・・・。

While the newspaper doesn't go as far as suggesting that Suzuki is not long for the American market, Automotive News has compiled a depressingly long list of signs that the company is on its last legs here.

Among the many signs that Suzuki is hurting, the most damning might be what's happening with its dealer body. The report says the brand dropped 32 stores last year, roughly 12 percent, and that it is down to 246 total dealerships in the States. But of those, 150 sell five or fewer cars per month.

Other signs of distress include sluggish sales so far this year, not exhibiting at the most recent Detroit and Los Angeles auto shows, cutting off their deal for J.D. Power customer satisfaction data, and a lack of marketing leadership or initiative, suspended social media activity on Twitter and Facebook two months ago, no national TV commercials have aired since 2009.

Kizashi, in Japanese, means "something great is coming", "omen", "sign", or "warning". Hopefully, Suzuki is warning itself...

世の中には想定外がある、という典型例？！

ちょっと前まで自動車において「安全」といえば、M・ベンツとボルボが真っ先に思い浮んだものです。両社によるマーケティングも上手でしたし、実際優れていたと思います。時間が経つにつれ世界各国の衝突安全基準が高められ、自動車全般における安全性が高まってきました。っで、M・ベンツやボルボの優位性が目立ちにくくなり、ここ最近は衝突安全性から別な観点をウリ文句としてきたんでしょうねぇ。

ただ、最近はアクティブセーフティに焦点が当てられ始め、あらためて「安全性」にスポットライトが。自動車にカメラという名の"目"が与えられ、常に事故の可能性を検知していますもんね。自動的にブレーキをかけたり、ドライバーに注意喚起したりします。万が一、衝突事故が避けられないと車が判断した場合は、最大限の制動とシートベルトの巻き上げをして被害を最小限に抑える車もあります。

新しいM・ベンツのコマーシャルは、昨年9月に実際に事故に遭遇したCLSを使用しています。同乗していた「エイミー」が主人公です（笑）。

パッシブセーフティ、アクティブセーフティすべての相乗効果で、無傷だったそうです。

まぁ、この手のコマーシャルって新しくないんです。管理人の知人は1980年代にこのテレビCMに出て、新車のSクラスをゲットしたそうですよ。

そういえば、ボルボがマスコミを呼んで自動ブレーキのデモ走行をやったんですけど・・・、失敗。

M・ベンツも自動ブレーキのデモ走行で失敗したことがありますねぇ。

BBCのTOP GEARではイギリス人らしいユーモアで「ドイツ人が失敗するのは面白い！」ってコメントです。日本なら放映できませんよ（笑）。

まぁ、世の中には想定外のことってたくさんあるわけです。オーストラリアGP開幕前に行われたセーフティカー（CLK63AMGブラックシリーズ）、スーパーV8（ホールデンコモドアがベースのレーシングマシン）、そして今年のM・ベンツF1マシンで対決です。

時間差を設けてスタートし、ゴールではF1マシンの速さを見せつける、というのがこの手のエキシビジョン・レースのパターンです。計算した人間が悪いのか、CLK63AMGブラックシリーズにマイケル・ドゥーハンを乗せたのが悪いのか・・・。

スタート順にゴールしています（笑）。こりゃ、明らかに想定外ですって！

There was a time when for many people, automobile safety was synonymous with Mercedes-Benz and Volvo, with both brands heavily promoting this aspect of their vehicles. As the years passed by, the safety requirements around the world has become tougher and mainstream automotive industry as a whole made safety a number one priority for their vehicles. Gradually, marketing teams of both Mercedes-Benz and Volvo pushed the focus elsewhere.

Now, Mercedes-Benz wants to remind consumers about the safety credentials of its cars with a new spot called Amy, named after a dog that made it out alive along with the...human passengers from a real car wreck involving a CLS that occurred last September.

But in this world, not everything goes the way it has been designed.

ＧＭでリチウム電池研究棟が爆発か？！

アメリカ・ミシガン州ウォーレンにあるＧＭの施設で爆発事故があったようです。技術開発棟が爆発しており、多くのメディアがリチウムイオン電池が原因ではないか、と報じています。最近まで米国NHTSA（運輸省道路安全交通局）はシボレー・ヴォルトのリチウムイオンバッテリーの危険性について調査していました、つい先日、安全宣言を出したばかりです。

当該事故で負傷者2名が病院へ搬送されたそうですが、怪我の度合は明らかになっていません。まだ、リチウムイオン電池が原因とは断定できていませんが、地元消防の話では既に「リチウムイオン電池によるものと見て調べている」と報じられています。

フィスカー・カーマではA123システムズのリチウムイオン電池がリコールになったばかりですし、今回の事故でLGケムにも注目が集まることでしょう・・・。

日本の自動車メーカーによるリチウムイオン電池の採用は世界的に見て遅れをとっていたように感じますが、こうしてみるとやっぱり信頼性に問題があったのかなぁ、とついつい勘ぐってみたくなります。

GMの公式発表によると①「極限状態の試験過程でリチウムイオン電池が爆発」②「シボレー・ヴォルト、今後、リチウムイオン電池が搭載予定されている車とは無関係」だそうです。

でもねぇ・・・、こりゃ、ますます不安になりますわ。

An explosion occurred at a lab facility on the campus of GM's Technical Center in Warren at around 8:50 am Wednesday morning. The explosion injured two people who were taken to the hospital for treatment. The details about the extent of their injuries.

Deputy Fire Chief Gary Wilkinson told CBS Detroit that the explosion was most likely related to a lithium battery and that the fire has been put out with firefighters now looking to clear and secure the building.

In January, NHTSA closed the investigation on the batteries of Chevrolet Volt and released a finding showing no safety issues... Fisker Karma's batteries, made by A123 Systems, has just been recalled... How reliable are Lithium Ion batteries, I wonder.

トルクメニスタンのレースはヤラセ？！

ＡＰ通信の報道で、素晴らしい記事を発見しました。世界で稀に見る全体主義国家、トルクメニスタンが舞台です。ええ、この国、僕らの"常識"からすれば凄いんです（笑）。

一番、笑ったのは故人であるニヤゾフ大統領です。事実上、1政党しか存在せず、首相も兼務していた彼が晩年行ったのは・・・、自分を「永久大統領」に指名することです。当然、反対票なんてあるわけもなく、ちゃっかり指名に成功。まぁ、7年後の2006年に亡くなったんですけどねっ。

っで、この国の経済は天然ガス、石油、綿花栽培、繊維工業で成り立っていて、特に天然ガスは世界第4位の埋蔵量を誇っているんです。一般国民のGDPを見ても大したことはないのですが、生活に必要なものは政府によって全て安価にコントロールされているんです。だから全体主義なのに不満が出ないようです。支配する側、される側で完全に棲み分けがなされているんでしょうねぇ・・・。

まっ、そんなトルクメニスタン、ニヤゾフ大統領亡き後、少しばかりは開放路線に進んでいるそうです。オペラ（！）、サーカス（！）、インターネットについても順次、自由化される予定だそうです。先日は、トルクメニスタン初の自動車レースが行われたそうで、現在のベルディムハメドフ大統領も激励に訪れたそうです。

っで、ブガッティ・ヴェイロンかよ！！（笑）

さすが全体主義国家。支配する側の儲けっぷりはハンパないんでしょうねぇ。そういえば、トルクメニスタンを訪れる外交団にはどこぞの有名ブランドの腕時計がプレゼントされるんですよねぇ（笑）。あの党のあの人とか、その党のその人とかっ。

っで、激励に訪れたベルディムハメドフ大統領、司会者に急きょ「レースに参加させて欲しい」と伝え、挙句の果てにトルクメニスタン初のレースで優勝したんです（笑）。もう、オママゴトです。要はすべてがヤラセで、国民へ"行動力ある大統領"、"なんでも出来る大統領"というイメージを植え付ける作戦だったようです。レースはヴェイロンではなく、トルクメニスタン国民車だったそうです。

そういえば、ロシアも大統領、首相が先陣切って色々やってみせますよねっ。あっ、中国も。ふむふむ。

AP has reported a humorously bizarre twist of Turkmenistan's first-ever automotive race, the nation's leader Gurbanguli Berdymukhamedov has won--even though he wasn't scheduled to be on the circuit.

The Turkmen President was slated to make an appearance at his fledgeling nation's maiden racing event, and did so in grand style, driving into the Ashgabat stadium in his lime-green Bugatti. When the race's presenter announced his arrival, the President reportedly asked the bemused man: "Can I take part?", before changing into his racing suit and clambering into a similarly hued Turkish-made Volkicar. No he didn't race in his Veyron.

The stunt appears to have been choreographed to portray the president as a competent and spontaneous man of action. Apparently, in the famously secretive former Soviet Central Asian nation, anything goes.
